Vanilla Ice Cream with Balsamic Strawberries

Ingredients

  • 500g fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 2 tablespoons The Australian Vinegar Co. Balsamic Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1 litre good-quality vanilla ice cream

Method

Step 1

Prepare the Strawberries:

  • Place the hulled and halved strawberries in a large bowl.
  • Sprinkle the caster sugar over the strawberries and drizzle with The Australian Vinegar Co. Balsamic Vinegar.
  • Toss the strawberries gently to coat them evenly with the sugar and vinegar.

Step 2

Marinate the Strawberries:

  • Let the strawberries marinate at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavours to meld and the strawberries to release their juices, creating a delicious syrup.

Step 3

Serve with Ice Cream:

  • Scoop the vanilla ice cream into serving bowls or glasses.
  • Spoon the marinated strawberries and their balsamic syrup over the ice cream.
  • Optional for some extra sweetness drizzle with more of The Australian Vinegar Co. Balsamic Vinegar.
